On January 14, First Deputy Minister of Transport Mamanbiy Omarov met with Girteka’s co-founder Edvardas Liachovicius to discuss the implementation of new projects and potential investments in Uzbekistan's transport and logistics system.

Girteka intends to establish a joint logistics hub in Uzbekistan. Additionally, the discussions included plans for training and retraining drivers and managers in international transport operations to meet global standards.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, during a meeting on January 11, instructed the Ministry of Transport to develop alternative routes for foreign trade operations. This directive comes in response to difficulties related to freight transportation to and from Europe due to border crossing restrictions.

Minister of Transport Ilkhom Makhkamov emphasized plans to improve Uzbekistan’s position in the Logistics Performance Index (LPI) from 88th to at least 55th place by 2030. To achieve this, the government aims to:

•  Build new logistics centers.
•  Establish TIR parks.
•  Develop infrastructure along international transport corridors.
