Uzbekistan revises entry fees for foreign trucks, increasing charges for Turkmenistan
The government of Uzbekistan has announced new entry fee rates for foreign cargo trucks as outlined in the 2025 state budget law. These changes significantly impact vehicles registered in Turkmenistan, while fees for trucks from Azerbaijan and European Union countries will now depend on their length of stay.

Increased fees for Turkmenistan trucks
Effective next year, trucks from Turkmenistan will face higher entry charges based on their tonnage:
- Vehicles up to 10 tons: $130 (up from $50)
- Vehicles between 10 and 20 tons: $180 (up from $100)
- Vehicles over 20 tons: $250 (up from $150)
Variable fees for Azerbaijan and EU trucks
Fees for vehicles from Azerbaijan and EU countries will now vary depending on their duration of stay in Uzbekistan:
- $80 for stays of 14 days or less
- $280 for stays exceeding 14 days
Fees for other countries remain unchanged
Entry fees for trucks from other countries remain as follows:
- Afghanistan: $50
- Tajikistan: $100 to $200, depending on tonnage
- Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan: $300
- Other countries: $400
Bilateral agreements and digital integration
In October, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan’s transport authorities reached an agreement to establish parity and transparency in transport service charges. Starting in 2025, the fees for national carriers from both countries will be equalized.
Additionally, Uzbekistan plans to implement an electronic permit exchange system (E-Permit) with Turkmenistan. Similar systems are already operational for transport between Uzbekistan, Turkey, and Kazakhstan, aiming to streamline cross-border logistics and enhance efficiency.
