The innovative “MyID Palm” payment system, developed by local engineers in collaboration with the Ministry of Transport, "ATTO" transport payment service, and "Octobank," scans a passenger’s palm vein pattern for biometric identification.
Biometric security and user data protection
Developers of the system have emphasized the robust security measures in place to protect user data. The technology ensures that unauthorized access and biometric profile forgery are impossible, providing passengers with a reliable and secure payment method.
How it works
To use the system, passengers must:
- Create a biometric profile.
- Scan their palms at an information kiosk located at designated metro stations.
- Link their profile to an "ATTO" transport card or a compatible smartphone app.
- Once set up, passengers can seamlessly pass through the turnstiles with a simple palm scan.
Pilot testing and expansion
The palm payment system was initially piloted in late November 2023 at the "Xalqlar Do'stligi" metro station. After its successful trial, the service was rolled out in early 2024 to 12 additional stations on the Chilonzor line. Plans are underway to implement the technology across all metro stations in Tashkent.
