The Prosecutor General's Office reported that Russian citizens Bislan Rasaev and Shamil Temirhanov, within the context of the assassination case, had unlawfully entered and exited Uzbekistan, failed to report a crime, and were involved in illegal firearm activities. They have since been put on the wanted list.
Rasul Kusherbayev shared his thoughts on individuals accused in the assassination attempt on Komil Allamjonov.
"Who are these two individuals? Where did these terrorists come from? How did these dangerous criminals enter Uzbekistan? This matter needs to be clarified," Kusherbayev said.
Earlier, Ramzan Kadyrov, the Head of the Chechen Republic, denied any involvement of Chechens in the assassination and issued public threats against Komil Allamjonov and Dmitry Li, warning that they would be held accountable for their actions.
"Openly threatening Uzbek officials is an act of terrorism. Those responsible for making or intending to carry out such threats must be held accountable. Why should the Uzbek government remain silent while such threats are being issued? How long will we tolerate these overtly chauvinistic threats? Isn't it time for the government to respond to such official threats with more than just statements, but with decisive actions?" Kusherbayev stated.
He stressed that the response should go beyond mere words and include concrete measures. "If necessary, flights to Grozny should be suspended, and every Chechen's entry into Uzbekistan should be thoroughly checked."
Deputy Odiljon Tojiev criticized Ramzan Kadyrov, Head of the Chechen Republic, for interfering in Uzbekistan's internal affairs and issuing threats against Uzbek officials.
He stated that such actions could negatively impact the friendly relations between the two countries and damage the bond between their peoples.
"I request that the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation conduct a legal review of Ramzan Kadyrov's threats against Uzbek officials. Furthermore, Kadyrov should issue a public apology to the people of Uzbekistan for his remarks. If he is truly a friend, he should also assist Uzbekistan in locating and extraditing Bislan Rasaev and Shamil Temirhanov, who are wanted by Uzbek authorities," Tojiev added.
Assassination attempt on Komil Allamjonov
Komil Allamjonov, who served as the head of the Information Policy Department of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan until September 30, 2024, was the target of an assassination attempt on October 26. The attack took place near his home in the Qibray district, where his car was shot at multiple times. Neither Allamjonov nor his driver were injured.
Earlier, the Prosecutor General's Office announced the arrest of seven individuals suspected of involvement in the crime, with one of them identified as Javlon Yunusov, who was extradited from South Korea. Another suspect was detained in Kazakhstan.
In November, several high-ranking officials from the State Security Service and the Ministry of Internal Affairs were dismissed in connection with the case.
