Tashkent region increases garbage storage fees at landfills
Starting January 1, 2025, the fee for depositing one ton of solid household waste at landfills in Tashkent region will increase to 48,600 UZS, including VAT, as part of newly approved tariffs for waste management services.

The Council of People's Deputies of Tashkent region has approved new tariffs for the acceptance and storage of household waste. These new rates will apply to landfills managed by the regional branch of the Directorate for Waste Management. The region currently has 18 landfills covering a total area of 246 hectares, as reported by the regional administration.
The tariffs will need to be approved by the governor. The new payment rates are as follows:
Liquid waste (1 cubic meter):
- Price without VAT: 17,890 UZS
- Price with VAT: 20,037 UZS
Solid waste (1 ton):
- Price without VAT: 43,423 UZS
- Price with VAT: 48,633 UZS
In the fall of 2023, the Ministry of Ecology introduced unified tariffs for waste disposal in four regions: Tashkent, Samarkand, Andijan, and Fergana. Rates also increased in Tashkent.
In December, waste disposal tariffs were raised in Bukhara and Namangan regions. The next regions to experience tariff hikes included Karakalpakstan, Jizzakh, Syrdarya, Surkhandarya, and the city of Karshi.
Since April, the zero VAT rate on waste collection and disposal has been abolished. As a result, tariffs have increased by 12%. For instance, in the capital, individuals now pay 8,400 UZS per month.
