The suspects were caught trying to sell 300 fake banknotes with a nominal value of 200,000 UZS for 20 million UZS.
During the search of a Monza vehicle belonging to one of the suspects, officers discovered tools and materials used in counterfeiting, including a ruler, scissors, a utility knife, four counterfeit banknotes, and 89 sheets of A4 paper printed with images resembling the national currency.
Additionally, a computer and a color printer were confiscated as material evidence, further confirming the counterfeiting operation.
The authorities have launched a criminal case under Article 176 of Uzbekistan’s Criminal Code, which pertains to the production and distribution of counterfeit money, excise stamps, or securities.
