The fight, originally set for December 21, featuring former junior middleweight world champion Israil Madrimov, has been called off, according to the Uzbekistan Professional Boxing Federation.
Madrimov, 29, was slated to face Ukrainian boxer Serhii Bohachuk in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. However, the match was canceled after Madrimov was diagnosed with acute bronchitis.
In Madrimov's absence, British boxer Ishmael Davis will step in to replace him. Meanwhile, Madrimov will focus on preparing for his next fight, scheduled for February 22, against WBC interim champion Vergil Ortiz Jr.
For context, Madrimov (10-1-1) last fought on August 4, losing on points to American star Terence Crawford. Similarly, Bohachuk (24-2-0) faced a recent defeat, losing to American fighter Vergil Ortiz Jr. in his most recent outing.
