In his address, President Mirziyoyev emphasized that Uzbekistan has significantly strengthened its legal and institutional framework in the nuclear energy sector, established a dedicated agency, and implemented a comprehensive system for training highly qualified specialists in the field.
“The peaceful use of nuclear energy is emerging as a vital alternative solution for enhancing the quality of life and achieving national development strategies,” he stated.
The president also drew attention to ongoing efforts to construct small nuclear power plants in compliance with international standards and regulations.
“We regard the IAEA as a key partner in the successful implementation of these projects, as well as in advancing various programs in science and healthcare,” Mirziyoyev added.
He expressed his gratitude to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) for its support of Uzbekistan’s initiatives in this area.
“The adoption of reliable, safe, economically viable, and environmentally friendly energy sources is a top priority within the broad reforms being undertaken in New Uzbekistan,” the president underlined.
