In Samarkand region, a warehouse manager and a guard have been detained while selling 50 tons of coal that was supposed to be distributed at subsidized prices.
According to the PGO report, a special operation was carried out by the PGO Department's Samarkand regional office in collaboration with the State Security Service. During the operation, it was discovered that J.P., the manager of the "Marokand" coal warehouse of the "Komirtaminot" LLC Samarkand branch, falsified documents and arranged to sell 50 tons of coal, which was meant to be distributed to low-income families at subsidized prices, to a private citizen A.A. for 37.5 million UZS. With the help of the warehouse guard, Kh.J., 13.2 tons of coal were delivered, and J.P. was caught in the act with evidence while receiving 28 million UZS from the agreed payment.
A criminal case has been initiated under Articles 25 and 167 (embezzlement or misappropriation of property) and Article 228 (manufacture, forgery, sale, or use of documents, stamps, seals, or forms) of the Criminal Code, and investigative actions are underway.
Earlier, it was reported that 1,400 tons of coal intended for distribution to the population in Surkhandarya had been misappropriated. A large amount of coal was sold to resellers by the warehouse manager.
