The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the move, emphasizing its importance in addressing pressing global challenges. "The Republic of Uzbekistan has formally joined the Global Alliance Against Hunger and Poverty," the Ministry stated on its official website.

Described as a "historic step," Uzbekistan’s decision aligns with its broader goals of tackling hunger, poverty, and inequality. The initiative also underscores the country's dedication to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

“This decision comes in response to growing global concerns over food security and reflects Uzbekistan’s desire to actively participate in resolving issues related to hunger, poverty, and inequality,” the statement added.

Membership in the Global Alliance offers Uzbekistan unique opportunities to exchange expertise, attract international investment, and collaborate with other nations and organizations on joint programs. These partnerships aim to address critical issues more effectively and foster global solidarity.

The alliance, which has over 100 member countries to date, serves as a platform for collective action and shared solutions to eradicate hunger and poverty worldwide.
