During the forum, Deputy Minister Aloyev underscored Uzbekistan's commitment to the Alliance’s initiatives, emphasizing its significant role in advancing the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. He highlighted the pivotal contributions Uzbekistan has made to fostering intercultural and inter-civilizational dialogue.
In his remarks, Aloyev drew attention to a successful event organized by Uzbekistan in collaboration with UNAOC this past September. The initiative, titled “Promoting Intercultural and Inter-Civilizational Dialogue to Accelerate the Achievement of Sustainable Development Goals,” was held on the sidelines of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly. The gathering brought together key stakeholders to discuss innovative approaches to achieving sustainable development through enhanced cultural and civilizational understanding.
Looking ahead, Uzbekistan is set to host two major international events in 2025: the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference and the 150th anniversary Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union. These high-profile gatherings will provide a platform to further champion cultural diversity and strengthen dialogue among civilizations and cultures.
