Speaking at the talks, President Putin emphasized the critical role of energy cooperation among the three nations.

"The agenda includes constructing three new thermal power plants in Kazakhstan. Gazprom ensures an uninterrupted supply of gas to Kazakh consumers and processes fuel from the Karachaganak field at the Orenburg gas chemical complex. Since last year, Russian gas has been delivered to neighboring Uzbekistan through Kazakhstan, and we plan to increase these supplies," Putin said.

Russia began exporting natural gas to Uzbekistan through Kazakhstan in October 2023 via the "Central Asia—Center" pipeline. To support the planned increase in gas deliveries, Kazakhstan’s main gas infrastructure will undergo modernization, with an estimated $500 million investment earmarked for the project.
