Under the proposed regulations, cash fares for single rides on buses and the metro will rise from the current 2,000 UZS to 3,000 UZS. However, passengers using electronic payment systems will benefit from a discounted rate of 1,700 UZS per ride. Additional charges include 4,000 UZS for baggage transport and 1,600 UZS for calculating fares tied to multiple trips.

Transport cards will continue to offer flat-rate and preferential tariffs for frequent riders. Discounts and free ride policies tied to the use of transport cards within specified time frames will remain unchanged, ensuring affordability for regular commuters.

As part of the reforms, all buses in Tashkent will discontinue accepting cash payments on board, reinforcing the shift to electronic payment systems.

The transition aims to modernize Tashkent’s public transport infrastructure, streamline operations, and encourage wider adoption of digital payments.
