Uzbekistan and Finland to boost cooperation in environmental and industrial sectors

According to the press office of the Uzbek president, the two leaders explored avenues for deepening Uzbekistan-Finland relations, emphasizing active political and inter-parliamentary collaboration. They discussed forming a new economic agenda focused on industrial cooperation, particularly in metallurgy, electrical engineering, chemistry, and telecommunications. This would involve creating a program aimed at expanding collaboration across these industries.

The leaders highlighted the importance of preparing for the upcoming intergovernmental commission meeting and business forum scheduled for January 2025 in Helsinki, viewing the event as a significant platform for advancing joint economic projects.

In addition to economic cooperation, the presidents emphasized strengthening educational and environmental exchanges, including Finland’s potential involvement in the United Nations Aral Sea Trust Fund, which supports sustainable initiatives in the Aral Sea region. The meeting concluded with discussions on future high-level interactions between the two nations.
