The accident highlighted the need for enhanced safety protocols on mountainous roads. In response, the Public Security Department of the Interior Ministry, in coordination with the Kamchik Pass Traffic Patrol, the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES), and the Kamchikavtoyol road management company, has initiated targeted actions along the A-373 highway, which passes through the Kamchik mountain area. These efforts focus specifically on areas prone to rockslides.
According to the Traffic Safety Department’s press service, all sections of the A-373 highway identified as high-risk for rockslides have now been marked with clear warning signs and thoroughly equipped to improve motorist awareness and safety. The new precautions include installing warning signs marked as 1.26, which indicate potential rockfall, and reinforcing the roadway infrastructure to minimize the likelihood of accidents.
These measures aim to prevent further incidents and enhance the safety of travelers along Kamchik Pass, one of the main routes in the region.
