According to financial reports, many local banks have concluded the quarter positively, despite the challenges in the banking sector. It is important to note that a significant number of these banks are state-owned and operate not merely as commercial entities but as development-focused organizations. This dual role often results in substantial government support, making it challenging to assess their profitability under purely market-driven conditions.

The top nine banks by profitability in the third quarter are as follows:

  1. National Bank of Uzbekistan — 1.3 trillion UZS
  2. Hamkorbank — 1.04 trillion UZS
  3. Kapitalbank — 921.8 billion UZS

  • InfinBank — 153.3 billion UZS
  • Universal Bank — 125.9 billion UZS
