New international university to open in Uzbekistan with Japanese Partnership
Uzbekistan is set to open a new international university in partnership with Japan, following a meeting between the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation, Kongratbay Sharipov, and Nagata Kyosuke, the President of the Japan Association of National Universities and rector of the University of Tsukuba.

During their discussion, which took place at the Ministry of Higher Education, the two officials commended the mutually beneficial cooperation between Uzbekistan and Japan in the fields of education and science. They explored various avenues for further collaboration in these sectors.
A significant outcome of the meeting was the preliminary agreement to establish a new international university in Uzbekistan. To facilitate this initiative, the parties also consented to form a joint working group tasked with developing the necessary technical and economic justifications for the establishment of the university.
The collaboration aims to enhance educational opportunities and foster academic exchange between Uzbekistan and Japan, further strengthening the ties between the two nations.
