Mirziyoyev meets Modi and Erdoğan in Kazan, discusses strategic partnerships
Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held bilateral meetings with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan during the BRICS summit in Kazan. The discussions focused on strengthening strategic partnerships and expanding multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and the two countries.

In his meeting with Modi, the two leaders explored ways to further deepen the Uzbekistan-India strategic partnership, particularly in areas like high technology, artificial intelligence, industry, energy, pharmaceuticals, and transportation. According to Mirziyoyev’s press service, both sides emphasized the importance of advancing joint projects in these sectors. They also agreed to hold the next session of the intergovernmental commission and a business forum later this year, along with a medium-term industrial cooperation program.
Cultural and social exchanges were also on the agenda, with proposals for mutual cultural and film events, as well as initiatives in healthcare, sports, and youth development, including collaboration between youth parliamentary organizations.
During his meeting with Erdoğan, Mirziyoyev discussed enhancing the comprehensive strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Turkey. The two leaders focused on expanding cooperation in political, trade, economic, investment, cultural, and humanitarian fields. They reaffirmed the importance of maintaining close contacts and fostering productive exchanges.
Special attention was given to advancing joint projects in sectors such as geology, mineral resource extraction, electrical engineering, machinery, healthcare, and education. The leaders also exchanged views on key international and regional issues.
