Uzbekistan and Sweden discuss strengthening bilateral relations and trade ties

A high-level delegation from Uzbekistan, led by Nodir Jumayev, Chairman of the Committee on Industry, Construction, and Trade of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis, visited Sweden on October 14-15. The delegation also included Akrom Toshpulotov, Director of the Institute for Parliamentary Studies; Eldor Tulyakov, Executive Director of the Development Strategy Center; and Mirshokhid Aslanov, Head of the Center for Progressive Reforms.

During the meetings in Stockholm, the delegation of Uzbekistan provided Swedish parliament members, government officials, and analysts with insights into ongoing reforms in the republic aimed at fostering economic growth, enhancing social stability, and strengthening democratic institutions.

The Swedish partners expressed keen interest in Uzbekistan's achievements in promoting dialogue between the state and society, ensuring gender equality, encouraging women's political participation, and implementing innovative changes in the electoral system.

The discussions also highlighted the significant strengthening of regional cooperation and sustainable development in Central Asia over recent years, with Uzbekistan playing a vital constructive role in these processes.

Additionally, the meetings focused on the current state of Uzbek-Swedish relations, the agenda for bilateral cooperation, and facilitating direct communication between entrepreneurs and business circles. Participants exchanged views on effectively utilizing human resources and high technologies and developing joint projects and programs in promising sectors.

The visit marks a significant step in enhancing bilateral relations, with both sides expressing optimism for future collaboration across various domains.
