A delegation from FAW recently met with local authorities in Andijan to discuss the project. Following the discussions, the delegation visited the FEZ "Ipak Yuli" to assess the site designated for the new plant.
Construction of the facility is set to begin in November, with the goal of reaching full production capacity in the near future. The project aims to significantly boost the region's industrial output, particularly in the automotive sector.
In addition to the FAW truck plant, the administration is also overseeing the construction of a factory to produce air conditioners and air purifiers under the NAWAS brand within the same economic zone.
The FAW initiative follows the successful launch of the brand's first truck production facility in the Andijan Industrial Hub in September 2023. This initial joint venture, which involved UzAuto Trailer and Vodiy Universal Majmua, was completed with an investment of approximately $15 million.
