Uzbekistan imports over 48,000 cars in eight months, China leads as top supplier
Uzbekistan imported 48,055 passenger vehicles from abroad between January and August 2024, with a total value of $912 million.
This marks an increase of 8,352 vehicles compared to the same period in 2023, reflecting a notable rise in car imports, according to preliminary data from the Statistics Agency.
China was the largest supplier of cars to Uzbekistan during this period, with 38,085 vehicles imported. South Korea followed with 8,729 cars, while the United States accounted for 622 imports. Japan and Germany were also among the key suppliers, with 139 and 104 vehicles imported, respectively.
The surge in imports highlights the growing demand for foreign-made cars in Uzbekistan, with China maintaining its dominant position as the leading exporter to the country.
