The tax exemption will cover winners of regional, national, and international science Olympiads. In addition, team leaders participating in prestigious international competitions will receive performance-based incentives.
To further support the development of science Olympiads, an electronic platform will be launched by December 1, 2025. This platform will enable the registration of participants, maintain statistical data on local and international Olympiads, and organize online competitions. Information about international Olympiads named after great scholars will also be made available, and the platform will allow local and foreign students to register for these events.
A new Science Olympiads Center will also be established under the Agency of Specialized Educational Institutions of Uzbekistan. Its primary mission will be identifying and nurturing talented students who show interest in in-depth studies of scientific subjects. The center will focus on developing gifted students from grades 5 to 8, creating a database of high-achievers, and preparing them for international Olympiads.
The center will also produce subject-specific curricula, educational materials, and teaching guides. Teachers and coaches preparing students for Olympiads will benefit from professional development opportunities, including training in new methodologies. Additionally, joint training camps will be organized with foreign national teams, and seminars and motivational training sessions will be held to help students cope with the psychological pressures of international competitions. The center will also host "intellectual camps" for talented youth.
This initiative was first announced by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev during a meeting with teachers and educators on September 30. At the meeting, it was also revealed that the number of international science Olympiads recognized by the government would increase from 18 to 22.
Under the new reward scheme, students who win a gold medal in an international Olympiad will receive 170 million UZS, while silver and bronze medalists will be awarded 102 million and 68 million UZS, respectively. Teachers of these students will receive bonuses ranging from 50 million to 150 million UZS, along with a 100% salary supplement for one year. A reward system for team leaders of first-time international Olympiad winners will also be introduced.
