Choriev shared key details about the project, which was developed in collaboration with the World Bank, during a recent briefing, Gazeta.uz reported.

The road will span 314 kilometers and will be classified as a Category I-a highway, with six lanes. Approximately 64% of the road will be newly constructed, while the remaining 36% will involve reconstruction. The project will be carried out in three stages: the first phase covers Tashkent to Angren (78 km), the second from Angren to Pop (93 km), and the final phase from Pop to Andijan (143 km). The highway will feature a cement-concrete surface.

The toll road will include 102 artificial structures, with a total of 1,122 meters of overpasses. Notably, the project involves the construction of 10 tunnels, with a combined length of 33 kilometers. The longest tunnel will stretch 6,787 meters.

Once completed, the new toll road is expected to reduce travel time between Tashkent and Andijan by 2 hours and 14 minutes. The total cost of the project is estimated at $4.28 billion, based on 2023 nominal prices. The public-private partnership agreement for the road will be in effect for 49 years.
