ILO Convention No. 155 is a critical international document aimed at raising safety standards in the workplace and reducing risks for workers. It obliges participating countries to develop and implement national policies and programs that protect workers, prevent workplace injuries, and combat occupational diseases.
By ratifying this convention, Uzbekistan reaffirms its commitment to continuing reforms in labor rights, promoting safe and healthy working conditions, and aligning with international standards. In line with the convention’s provisions, the government plans to improve legal frameworks, strengthen safety regulations at enterprises, and hold employers accountable for maintaining proper working conditions.
This ratification follows Uzbekistan's earlier decision to ratify the ILO Convention on the protection of the rights of part-time workers.
