During a routine customs check, the man initially declared he was carrying $5,000 and 38 million Uzbek UZS. However, upon recounting, officials found he had $10,000 and 61.58 million UZS in his possession. This discrepancy raised suspicions, prompting a more thorough inspection.
Upon further examination, customs officers discovered an additional $20,000 concealed in the soles of the man's shoes and another $10,000 hidden in his pockets. In total, $50,000 and 61.58 million UZS were seized temporarily as authorities investigate the case.
According to Uzbekistan’s laws, individuals are allowed to export cash equivalent to up to 100 million UZS, provided it is voluntarily declared. Exceeding this limit requires special authorization from the relevant authorities.
