“It is a great honor for us to announce this historic milestone—Uzbekistan's plans to host the 20th summit and lead the Movement from 2027 to 2029, focusing on key priorities such as energy security, sustainable development, and strengthening global trade systems,” Minister Saidov stated on his Telegram channel.

He also noted Uzbekistan's participation in the recent ministerial meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement. “We fully support Uganda as the newly appointed chair for 2024-2026 and express our gratitude to Azerbaijan for its successful previous chairmanship,” the statement read.

The Non-Aligned Movement is an international organization comprising 120 member states, founded on the principles of non-participation in military alliances. The organization was officially established during the Belgrade Conference in 1961.
