Uzbekistan and Malta sign agreement for regular political consultations
Uzbekistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bakhtiyor Saidov, met with Ian Borg, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Foreign and European Affairs, and Trade of Malta, as well as the current OSCE Chairman, in New York.

At the meeting, the parties discussed the current state of bilateral relations and prospects for further development of cooperation in all areas of interest.
“We signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs and Trade of Malta to conduct political consultations,” Saidov wrote on his Telegram channel. “This provides a solid foundation for exploring many untapped opportunities in our bilateral relations.”
For information, Uzbekistan and Malta established diplomatic relations on February 25, 1993.
