On September 17, an accident occurred at the M25 mine in Boysun, resulting in the deaths of four people and injuries to eleven. While at the site to assess the situation, a Kun.uz correspondent interviewed the Minister of Energy about compensation for the families of the victims.
According to the minister, in addition to the prescribed compensations, the contractor will take full responsibility for supporting the families of the deceased workers.
"Many say that workers in the oil and gas sector receive high salaries. But first, we must acknowledge the difficult working conditions. Compensation for accidents is included in their labor contracts.
Apart from the compensations provided, the contractor has fully committed to taking care of the families of the deceased. Additionally, the contractor has taken responsibility for raising and educating their children, and even guaranteeing them jobs within the company," the minister said.
Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov left a question from the Kun.uz correspondent about the evacuation process unanswered.
Earlier, the Minister of Energy stated that the accident at the M25 mine was caused by extremely high pressure.
