In Uzbekistan, 566 individuals who committed corruption-related crimes were rehired into government service in 2023 and again engaged in corrupt activities, said MP Umida Rahmonova during a session of the Legislative Chamber.

During the session, the director of the Anti-Corruption Agency, Akmal Burkhanov, presented a report on when the registry would be launched.

According to Burkhanov, the initial draft of the law was developed at the beginning of 2022, agreed upon with ministries and agencies, and submitted to the Presidential Administration at the start of this year.

"However, the administration raised several objections, and we were tasked with improving the draft based on international practices. We have refined the draft in accordance with these tasks. These days, we plan to submit the latest version to the Legislative Chamber through the Presidential Administration. I believe that by the end of this month, we will submit this law for your consideration," said Burkhanov.
