The President signed the Law "On amendments and additions to certain legislative acts aimed at strengthening guarantees of judicial independence, informing the public about the activities of courts, and ensuring unified judicial practice".
In particular, the law "On state duty" has been supplemented. Accordingly, duplicates and copies of sentences in criminal courts now carry a fee of 2% BCA for each page of the document (6,800 UZS).
The innovation came into force on August 14.
It should be recalled that in accordance with Article 475 of the Criminal Procedural Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, a copy of the sentence must be handed to the convicted and acquitted no later than 3 days after its proclamation, and if the volume of the sentence is significant, no later than 10 days. Other parties are handed a copy of the verdict or extract from it at their request within the same time frame.
If the convict is detained, a copy of the sentence is handed to him by the administration of the place of detention on the day of its receipt, which is submitted to the court indicating the date and time of delivery.
