Bahodir Gulomov, the former Kogon district prosecutor, was sentenced by the court, according to Aziz Obidov, head of the Supreme Court's press service. He noted that the criminal case involving the former prosecutor was reviewed by the Samarkand City Court.

According to the court ruling, Bahodir Gulomov, while serving as the Kogon district prosecutor, conspired with N. Numonov and the dangerous recidivist Z. Odilov in early January 2024 to fraudulently obtain a large sum of money. They convinced one of the founders of "Kogon Oil Extraction Plant" JSC, who was under investigation by the Bukhara Regional Prosecutor's Office for serious crimes, to pay a $100,000 bribe in exchange for not filing charges and avoiding criminal liability.

Subsequently, on January 15, 2024, Bahodir Gulomov received $100,000 through his accomplice N. Numonov in front of the "Turon" hotel in Bukhara. He continued his criminal activities by again demanding a $100,000 bribe for not involving the individuals associated with "Kogon Oil Extraction Plant" JSC in the investigation and avoiding criminal liability. He fraudulently obtained $44,000, of which $10,000 was taken by Z. Odilov, and N. Numonov kept $34,000 for future transfer to Bahodir Gulomov.

On February 13, 2024, during a special operation near the Bukhara Central Hospital, Bahodir Gulomov was caught red-handed receiving $56,000 through N. Numonov. During the operation, $34,000 of the requested $100,000 bribe for not involving four individuals related to the "Kogon Oil Extraction Plant" JSC in the investigation was found in N. Numonov’s Cobalt car and confiscated.

In court, the former prosecutor pleaded guilty, expressed sincere remorse, and asked for forgiveness from the head of state, requesting leniency from the court.

The court found Bahodir Gulomov guilty under Article 168, Part 4, Clause "a" (large-scale fraud), and Article 28, 211, Part 3, Clause "a" (participation in large-scale bribery) of the Criminal Code. He was sentenced to 15 years in prison and banned from working in the prosecutor's office for 3 years.

Additionally, Najmiddin Numonov, who worked as an expediter at "New Imperial Oil" LLC, was sentenced to 11 years, and the dangerous recidivist Zafar Odilov was sentenced to 12 years in prison.

Bahodir Gulomov, who had been serving as the Kogon district prosecutor since April 2022, was arrested by State Security Service officers during a special operation on February 13, 2024.
