On August 4, at the "BMO Stadium" in Los Angeles, USA, which has a capacity of 22,000 spectators, the main event of the boxing night featured a super welterweight bout between WBA champion Isroil Madrimov and American Terence Crawford.

In this match, the 29-year-old Uzbek boxer was to defend his WBA belt, with the WBO Interim belt in the same weight category also on the line.

The 36-year-old Terence Crawford was ranked as the "Pound-for-pound" leader before the fight. He had a perfect professional record of 40 wins in 40 fights. Known as the undefeated Crawford, he was the undisputed world champion and held the WBC and WBA belts.

Isroil Madrimov, the WBA super welterweight titleholder, had 9 wins and 1 draw in his 10 professional fights. He had won 7 of these fights by knockout. On March 8, he knocked out Russian Magomed Kurbanov in the 5th round in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to claim the WBA belt.

After the first 5 rounds of the fight, independent analysts noted Madrimov's 3:2 advantage in points. However, starting from the 6th round, Crawford began to win rounds in his favor. Despite this, Madrimov fought on equal terms with his opponent for 12 rounds, landing several accurate and powerful blows. However, the judges' decision gave the edge to the home boxer (116–112, 115–113, 115–113), resulting in a points victory for Crawford.

Thus, Madrimov suffered his first defeat in his 11th fight, while Terence achieved his 41st victory, becoming a world champion in four weight categories.

Following the fight, Madrimov challenged Crawford to a rematch, asserting he won the fight. "Terence had won almost all his previous fights by knockout. Today, I fought well until the end and I think I won the fight.

After today's fight, I will ask for a rematch. I will ask Mr. Sheikh Al-Turki to organize a rematch. Everyone saw that today's fight was under my control. I will try to perform at the same level in my future fights.

Yes, Terence is the best boxer in the world, and I have only had 10 fights so far. Nevertheless, I think I fought a worthy fight against Crawford. I am grateful to everyone who supported me. God willing, I will return," Isroil Madrimov said after the fight.
