Uzbekistan’s state budget deficit reaches 36.5 trillion UZS in first 7 months of 2024

In the first 7 months of this year, state budget revenues amounted to 137.6 trillion UZS, while expenditures were 174.1 trillion UZS, resulting in a deficit of 36.5 trillion UZS, the Ministry of Economy and Finance said.

According to the data disclosed by the Ministry:

- In January, state budget revenues were 16 trillion 159.9 billion UZS, and expenditures were 21 trillion 926.7 billion UZS. The difference between revenues and expenditures was 5 trillion 766.8 billion UZS.
- In February, state budget revenues were 16 trillion 908.9 billion UZS, and expenditures were 24 trillion 137.1 billion UZS. The negative difference was 7 trillion 228.1 billion UZS.
- In March, state budget revenues were 17 trillion 457.2 billion UZS, and expenditures were 24 trillion 307.1 billion UZS. The negative difference was 6 trillion 850 billion UZS.
- In April, state budget revenues were 19 trillion 286.1 billion UZS, and expenditures were 25 trillion 27.2 billion UZS. The negative difference was 5 trillion 741.1 billion UZS.
- In May, state budget revenues were 22 trillion 749 billion UZS, and expenditures were 26 trillion 565.2 billion UZS. The negative difference was 3 trillion 816.2 billion UZS.
- In June, state budget revenues were 23 trillion 233.4 billion UZS, and expenditures were 27 trillion 879.9 billion UZS. The negative difference was 4 trillion 646.5 billion UZS.
- In July, state budget revenues were 21 trillion 815 billion UZS, and expenditures were 24 trillion 332 billion UZS. The negative difference was 2 trillion 517 billion UZS.

For information, according to the law on the state budget for 2024, state budget revenues are projected to be 270.4 trillion UZS, and expenditures are projected to be 280.7 trillion UZS.

The consolidated budget (which includes the state budget, state target funds, the Reconstruction and Development Fund, and extra-budgetary funds of budgetary organizations) deficit is limited to 52.6 trillion UZS or 4 percent of GDP.

Previously, it was reported that subsidies allocated for gas for 2024 were used up in the first half of the year.
