For information, one of the main opportunities for women to enter higher education is through grants allocated from the general quota for women from needy families, which amounts to 4% (2,000 places). Applicants must also obtain a recommendation from the State Committee for Family and Women’s Affairs. Recommendations can be received by women from certain categories such as those from low-income families, orphaned children, or children of parents with disabilities. These women will participate in entrance exams within a separate selection process, and the top 2,000 scoring women will be admitted to the grants based on their recommendations.
Recommendations are only valid for the first choice and only for daytime education. Women with recommendations can apply to 5 fields. Their scores are considered separately from the general applicants, and those with the highest scores are admitted with privileges. Those who do not score sufficiently will participate in the general selection process like other applicants and may or may not be admitted based on their scores.
