Cabinet of Ministers implements stringent measures for medical licensing and accreditation
Uzbekistan is introducing a mandatory installation of recording cameras in operating and intensive care rooms.

The Cabinet of Ministers has adopted a resolution on "Measures to Organize the Activities of the Center for Licensing and Accreditation of Medical Organizations under the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan."
The document defines the main tasks of the center:
• Ensuring the licensing and accreditation of medical organizations;
• Developing requirements for licensing and accreditation of medical organizations based on advanced international experience;
• Monitoring the compliance of licensees with licensing requirements and conditions;
• Introducing "safe medicine" standards, among others.
Additionally, new licensing requirements for medical practice will be introduced starting January 1, 2025:
• When organizing a surgical department in a non-state inpatient medical organization, the following staff must be present:
o A surgeon and an anesthesiologist-resuscitator with at least the first qualification category in their specialty;
o An assistant doctor with a qualification category in surgery;
o A nurse with at least the first qualification category in anesthesiology-resuscitation and the operating room;
• Audio and video recording cameras must be installed in operating and resuscitation (intensive care) rooms, and these recordings must be stored by the licensee for at least one year. Additionally, measures must be taken to protect the confidentiality of the information on the video recordings, preventing unauthorized disclosure (except in cases provided by law)
