At a press conference held at the Agency for Information and Mass Communications (AIMC) with the participation of the leadership of the Committee for Family and Women Affairs, information was provided on the work carried out in the first half of the year and the tasks ahead.
Six regulatory and legal documents (one law, one presidential decree, two decisions by the president, and two decisions by the government) aimed at improving the legislative framework to ensure equal rights and opportunities for women and men were adopted. A total of 127,274 women were trained, of which 89,128 were trained in vocational skills and 38,146 in entrepreneurship.
A total of 138,486 women were employed in permanent jobs, including those created within regional and sectoral investment programs, and 40,520 women were engaged in paid public work. Subsidies to promote employment were allocated to 13,131 women.
To support women's entrepreneurship, commercial banks provided 1 trillion 230 billion soums in loans to 74,420 women from January to June. The proportion of women among higher education students reached 50.1%.
To fully utilize the opportunities created for women to obtain higher education, recommendations for admission were given to 18,481 women from low-income families and to 4,587 women without higher education but with at least five years of work experience.
