Uzbekistan’s tourism potential presented in Vienna

Ambassador of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Ibragimov told the guests about the modern development of the tourism industry in our country, its role in the economy, the rich heritage and historical monuments of our country included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, hotel and transport infrastructure, and its places in international rankings.

The Ambassador of Austria to Uzbekistan with residence in Vienna, Matthias Radostich, in his speech highly appreciated the comprehensive reforms in all areas carried out in our country, and noted that the world community recognizes the achievements of reform.

He noted that Uzbekistan was recently elected as a member of the UN Human Rights Committee for 2025-2028 and the UN Economic and Social Council for 2025-2027. He emphasized that holding the session of the UNESCO General Conference in 2025 in Samarkand for the first time in the last 40 years outside of Paris is a worthy assessment of Uzbekistan’s work in the field of tourism development.

It was noted that there are great prospects in this direction, since Uzbekistan is a hospitable and safe country for foreign tourists.

Travel organizer of the Austrian travel company “lass uns reisen” Kalya Heine spoke about the ancient cities of our country – Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva and Tashkent.

The project manager of the Austrian company dreiD.at Filmproduction, Bruno Baumann, announced the start of work on a documentary film dedicated to the nature of our country, its unique fauna and flora.

As part of the event, a table was set and national Uzbek dishes were served for the guests who visited the Embassy.

During the presentation, participants also discussed the implementation of joint projects in the field of tourism, establishing air connections between the cities of the two countries, the participation of Uzbekistan with national stands in international tourism exhibitions in Austria, as well as regular holding of such presentations.
