On July 18, the president approved a series of measures aimed at creating a barrier-free environment for people with disabilities, as reported by the Ministry of Justice's legal information channel.

From October 1, all urban development projects undergoing reconstruction and repair must include a mandatory technical examination to ensure compliance with standards and regulations that facilitate accessibility for people with disabilities.

An interactive map will be created for all facilities in Uzbekistan that have been made accessible. This map is expected to be launched by early 2026.

Beginning October 1, public transportation will be free for all individuals with Group I disabilities and their accompanying persons. Currently, this benefit is only available to the visually impaired.

Only carriers with buses adapted for transporting people with disabilities will be allowed to participate in tenders for organizing bus routes in Tashkent and international routes. From 2025, this requirement will be extended to other cities and regions.

Starting November 1, carriers will be compensated for 50% of the expenses incurred in adapting buses for people with disabilities, with a maximum payout of 30 BCAs (10.2 million UZS). The same compensation will be available from October 1 for individuals with Group I disabilities to adapt their personal vehicles.
