Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulates Ursula von der Leyen on re-election as European Commission President
Uzbekistan is soon to sign the Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement with the European Union. Moreover, a "Central Asia – European Union" summit may be held in Samarkand.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, on her re-election and conveyed his best wishes, according to the presidential press service.
In his letter, the president highlighted Ursula von der Leyen's significant personal contribution in recent years to elevating the comprehensive relations between Uzbekistan and the European Union to a completely new level in terms of quality and content, as well as her full support for the "irreversible democratic and socio-economic reforms" taking place in the country.
Mirziyoyev also expressed confidence that through joint efforts, cooperation in all priority areas will reach even higher levels.
It was noted that Uzbekistan is committed to soon signing the Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement, which will open a completely new chapter in relations with the European Union.
"I am confident that the upcoming first 'Central Asia – European Union' summit in Samarkand will be an important practical step towards enriching our regional relations with beneficial projects and programs," the president's letter said.
