The governor of the Tashkent region, Zoir Mirzaev, visited the under-construction Textile Industry Park in the Yukorichirchik district on July 4.
The facility is located in the "Nurlizamin" mahalla and covers more than 69 hectares.
Construction work began in February. The total cost of the project, which consists of 23 lots, is estimated at $350 million.
The construction and launch of the Textile Industry Park are scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2025. According to the administration’s press service, the technopark is expected to create over 2,000 new jobs.
On May 1, the president signed a decree approving new measures for the development of the textile and knitwear industry. The document provides for the creation of centers for designers, constructors, and marketers of textile products in Tashkent and three other regions.
In addition, it has been ordered to build a wholesale market and a center for light industry products, as well as imported materials for their production, in New Tashkent. For this purpose, a land plot of 30 hectares will be provided.
