Due to the security situation in Israel, the embassy “strongly recommends” that you refrain from visiting certain areas of Israel, as well as, if possible, avoid large gatherings of people and limit your visits to public places.
The warning may be due to the increased threat of conflict between Israel and the Lebanese group Hezbollah on the northern border with Lebanon. In the past few months, shelling from both sides has become more intense.
The Embassy recommends following news and official communications from the Israeli authorities, and subscribing to notifications and alerts from the Israeli Home Front Command through their mobile application or website.
“Always keep your identification documents and contact information of the Uzbekistan Embassy with you. In emergency situations, this will help you get help faster,” the message reads.
Previously, the Kyrgyz authorities recommended their citizens to refrain from traveling to Lebanon and Israel. This week, Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu visited the border with Lebanon, where he observed Israeli military exercises and said that in the event of a conflict with Hezbollah, the country would win.
