“If this agreement is signed, opportunities for vocational training for citizens of Uzbekistan based on German standards and employment for high-paying jobs in Germany will be expanded,” the Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction of Uzbekistan said in a statement.
The initiative to formulate a draft "Migration and Mobility" intergovernmental agreement was introduced in 2023 during President Shavkat Mirziyoyev's visit to Germany. The document's purpose is to secure favorable conditions for temporary employment of Uzbekistani nationals in Germany.
Earlier, it was reported that the German government is discussing with Uzbekistan the possibility of expelling Afghans who do not have the right to refugee status through Tashkent, without direct agreements with the Taliban.
