Uzbekistan expanding cooperation with southern regions of China

Thus, at meetings with the vice-mayor of Ouyang Qinxuan and the heads of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, issues of establishing cooperation between Uzbek and Chinese manufacturers were discussed.
In addition, during the trip, a business forum “Uzbekistan – China (Zhongshan)” was organized with the participation of representatives of more than 20 local companies. It presented the economic, investment and tourism potential of Uzbekistan, as well as promising projects for joint implementation.
Forum participants were invited to visit Uzbekistan in order to get acquainted with the country’s tourism potential and reforms in this area, and get acquainted with business opportunities.
It is important to note that the city of Zhongshan is a dynamically developing industrial center. Its economy is dominated by foreign and private Chinese companies, followed by township companies and state-owned enterprises by a significant margin. The 2010s saw an influx of information and financial technology companies to Zhongshan. In the first quarter of 2024, Zhongshan’s gross regional product was $12.5 billion. The production of electrical machines and equipment and the production of medicines are also growing.
The diplomats also got acquainted with the activities of the Mingyang Smart Energy Group manufacturing enterprise and the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Library. At the negotiations, the parties agreed to exchange delegations and promote the possibility of implementing joint projects aimed at specific results.
