29 people became victims of road accidents in Tashkent in five months
During the months of January-May, 393 accidents were registered in the city of Tashkent, in which 29 people died and 364 people were injured. 240 accidents were committed by pedestrians.

Under the chairmanship of Major-General Aziz Toshpolatov, head of the Tashkent city main DIA, a meeting was held to discuss the work done by the DIA Traffic Safety Department during the 6 months of 2024 and the shortcomings.
During 5 months of this year, 393 traffic accidents were recorded in Tashkent, in which 29 citizens died, 364 citizens received various degrees of injuries. 240 accidents were committed by pedestrians.
When the causes of accidents were analyzed, it has been found out that drivers did not follow traffic rules, pedestrians crossed the road in unmarked areas. As a result, road accidents were recorded in 99 percent of cases.
In order to prevent accidents, the head of the capitalās main DIA emphasized that it is necessary to analyze each accident site, to determine the necessary measures based on the analysis, and to strengthen the preventive measures for the observance of traffic rules among drivers and pedestrians.
At the meeting, the activities of the Registration and Examination Department were also touched upon, in order to create additional convenience for citizens and prevent corruption among employees, the new 3-stage e-system was introduced in the registration units āYunusabadā, āChilanzorā, āUzbum-Mirabadā, āFayzabadā. It was criticized that all processes related to the provision of public services to the population should be carried out through e-devices and the Unified Electronic System, but in some cases this system is not fully used by employees.
