It is noted that this happened during engineering and technical measures to open an additional tunnel on the left side of the dam.

“To eliminate the consequences of the accident, under the leadership of the chairman of the board of Uzbekhydroenergo JSC, an operational headquarters was formed consisting of the regional khokim, heads of emergency situations, department of internal affairs and other organizations, all necessary engineering measures are being carried out using special equipment,” the message says.

The situation is under the control of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. There is no damage to the reservoir. There were also no casualties.

“Dear citizens, there is no reason for unnecessary concern. The situation is under full control,” the ministry noted.

Videos have appeared on social networks showing the release of water from the reservoir and the increased water level in the river.

Khokim of the Shakhrisab region Samad Khasanov made a video message together with the head of the emergency department Mirzaev 150 meters from the reservoir and clarified that every year before the summer season, additional water is released from here for the Chimkurgan reservoir.

“We grow cotton and wheat in the desert area, so water is sent from here every year along the river bed. Such activities in the direction of water began this year. The slight increase in water in the rivers has led to misunderstanding among the people,” he said.

“In addition, every year repair work is carried out at the Khisorak reservoir. They are carried out under the supervision of Uzbekhydroenergo specialists and other responsible persons. There is no scary information about a strong flow of water or damage to the dam. If it were like that, we wouldn’t be standing here and talking like we are doing now,” the khokim added.

The head of the district administration asked residents not to believe false information and to remain in their places of residence.

The head of the Emergency Situations Department added that no emergency situation occurred on the territory of the reservoir.
