Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Kazakhstan sign agreement on preparation for construction and operation of Kambarata HPP
The Ministries of Energy of Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Kazakhstan signed a trilateral agreement on the preparation for the construction and operation of the Kambarata HPP-1 project.

On June 10-11, the International Energy Investment Forum of Kyrgyzstan, organized with the assistance of the World Bank, took place in Vienna, Austria. The Minister of Energy of Uzbekistan, Jurabek Mirzamahmudov, also participated in the event.
The forum's goal was to showcase Kyrgyzstan’s efforts to reform the energy sector, discuss investment opportunities including the Kambarata HPP-1 project, and demonstrate the potential for accelerating the transition to clean energy in Central Asia.
Approximately 200 energy sector representatives, including from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Austria, France, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, the European Union, and various international financial institutions, participated in the forum.
Within the forum's scope, the Ministries of Energy of Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Kazakhstan signed a trilateral agreement on the preparation for the execution of the Kambarata HPP-1 construction and operation project.
Furthermore, an agreement was reached to develop cooperation in the energy sector, including renewable energy sources, and establish mutually acceptable mechanisms for the use of water and energy resources at Kambarata HPP-1.
The forum concluded with the formation of the Coordinating Donor Committee for the construction of Kambarata HPP-1.
The initial members of the Donor Committee include the World Bank, OPEC Fund, Asian Development Bank, Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, Islamic Development Bank, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and others.
The Government of Kyrgyzstan emphasized that "the doors of the committee are open and interested parties can join." The committee's first meeting is scheduled to take place this fall.
