Mirziyoyev expressed condolences to those who lost loved ones, noting that a bloody war has been going on in the Gaza Strip for 8 months, as a result of which about 40 thousand residents, in particular women and children, have died.
He emphasized that the attitude of Western countries towards the tragedy is of serious concern, and in practice double standards are observed.
“Leading, developed countries that widely promote democracy and human rights and stand up for their protection turn a blind eye to these killings. Of course, it is necessary to stop the violence completely and begin the peace process. The tragedy in Gaza is the sad consequences of the still unresolved Israeli-Palestinian conflict. To achieve a stable and lasting peace, the creation of an independent and free Palestinian state is certainly necessary. In fact, the Palestinian problem is a problem of the entire Middle East,” Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
The President said that Uzbekistan fully supports the fair initiatives of the Turkish President on this pressing issue.
“We will continue to cooperate as we work to widely disseminate the true humane nature of our sacred religion. We noted with satisfaction the growing attention of the Turkish people to the invaluable spiritual and cultural heritage of such outstanding thinkers as Imam Bukhari, Imam Termizi, Imam Maturidi, Abdulkhalik Gijduvani and Bakhauddin Nakshband, who were born and raised in Uzbekistan. The firm position of the respected Erdogan regarding any negative actions against Islam deserves special respect and recognition. We agreed that in the current situation we will jointly respond to various attacks and pressure on our religion,” Mirziyoyev emphasized.
