Illegal energy usage in three regions of Uzbekistan leads to substantial financial damage
In May, the illegal use of energy resources resulted in damage to the state interests amounting to 67 billion 825 million UZS, as reported by the Ministry of Energy.

The "Uzenergoinspeksiya" under the Ministry of Energy, in cooperation with law enforcement agencies, identified 971 cases of illegal consumption of natural gas and electricity during control measures conducted in May.
It was found that the state interests suffered a total of 67 billion 825 million UZS in damages as a result of the embezzlement of 39 billion 332 million UZS worth of electricity (46 million 264 thousand kilowatt-hours) and 28 billion 492 million UZS worth of natural gas (18 million 124 thousand cubic meters).
The regions with the highest incidence of illegal usage are Navoiy, Surkhandarya, and Andijon.
Appropriate measures were taken against the violators, and the relevant documents were submitted to law enforcement agencies.
