Schoolgirl gives birth in Samarkand
It is said that a student of one of the schools in Taylak district gave birth, and the father of the baby is a student of another school. The situation is being investigated, a criminal case has been opened.
News spread on social networks that an 8th-grade student of one of the schools in Taylak district of Samarkand region gave birth to a baby boy.
The baby’s father may be a young man studying at another school. It is said that the schoolgirl is currently in the hospital, and her mother has gone to work in another country.
The children’s ombudsman confirmed that such a situation was detected. According to her information, the girl born in 2009 had a close relationship with a boy born in 2006, whom she already knew in August 2023. On May 6, 2024, she delivered a baby in the hospital.
“In connection with this situation (although the application was not made due to the age of the minor girl), a criminal case was initiated by the Taylak district DIA under Article 128, Part 1 of the Criminal Code (Sexual intercourse with a person under the age of sixteen).
At the same time, it should be recalled that the disclosure and dissemination of other information related to the identity of the minor victim within the framework of this type of criminal case is prohibited by law and is against the interests of the child,” the official report reads.
Dilfuza Sobirova, press secretary of the Ministry of Preschool and School Education, told Kun.uz that the situation is being investigated.
Preliminary investigation is currently underway.
