Odile Renaud-Basso, President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), will visit Uzbekistan from May 1 to May 3, UzNews.uz reported with reference to bank representatives.
During her three-day agenda, the EBRD President is set to meet with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and hold bilateral meetings with Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjaev and Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Finance Jamshid Kuchkarov.
Odile Renaud-Basso will also co-chair the second plenary session of the Council of Foreign Investors. Additionally, she will make an appearance at the third plenary session of the Tashkent International Investment Forum.
It is noted that, in the context of these events, Odile Renaud-Basso will address the importance of privatization processes in the republic, the necessity for the country to become more resilient to climate change in light of the growing water and heat crisis, and the need to further improve the country's business environment through reforms. She will also discuss public-private partnership issues, interregional cooperation, and energy security.
During her visit, the EBRD plans to sign several projects aimed at developing sustainable transport connections and supporting youth entrepreneurship.
